Initially formed by Duvall brothers Patrick, David, and Joe, metal 3-piece Aftermath of Myrtle Beach, SC, went into the studio in the spring of 2009 with regional sound wizard, Brian Mckenzie, to record their professional debut, AM Radio. Through the process of refining their approach and execution, they abruptly shed the old moniker and emerged as Of The Sun. Inspired by musical outfits like Opeth, Psyopus, BTBAM and the like, they diligently strained against the limits of their own understanding of music and structure to form interpretations on themes like alternate folk mythology, sociopolitical mechanisms, psychedelic exploration, revolution, and self analysis over the backdrop of an unrelentingly energetic and aggressively raw spasm of distortion and groove. Due to lineup difficulties, there was never a tour supporting the debut, and the second record, Before A Human Path, wasn't complete until April 14, 2017. By then, brothers Patrick and David had been living in Austin, TX, for nearly seven years, searching for solid candidates to create music with and enduring lengthy hiatuses. Recorded in Austin, TX, with producer, Sebastian Cure, this EP was clearly a continuation of the growth hinted at in AM Radio, carried by the same familiar, twisted energy.
